End of the Year Stats – 2025

Another year has come and gone, so it’s time to look back and see what posts and pieces have garnered the greatest readership among the audience. This year saw a great number of older pieces get a tremendous bump in readership thanks to an influx of new readers from China of all places. So welcome, glad to have you checking this stuff out. As in the past, this page will function as a simple one-stop shop for the most popular entries we’ve posted.

The most popular piece on the site exploded out of nowhere this past year. If nothing else, it proves that people love Best-Of lists.

In the number two slot, but closing the gap at a frightening pace is this piece on the aborted JLA/AVENGERS book from 1984:

Number three was also about that same JLA/AVENGERS story that never happened:

In the number four position, this piece concerning Jack Kirby’s handwritten account of the formative Marvel years:

Number five was this rundown of where and how much the early Batman used a gun:

Number six was a perennial favorite running down the complicated creation of Spider-Man:

Number seven was about the slow development of Wolverine into the character he is today:

Number eight was about the wedding of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy in a Mexican-produced Spider-Man story:

Number nine was this walkthrough of the first Spider-Man story from AMAZING FANTASY #15:

And Number Ten was about the original ending to the Death of Phoenix storyline in X-MEN #137:

Only a few of these pieces were written new for this year, so to continue on with the remainder of what made up the Top-10 for just this year, we have:

A companion piece to our most favorite story of the year, a rundown of the best stories of the original DOCTOR WHO era, was number three for the year:

Then this piece on the mess that was the original Origin of Galactus was fifth for the year:

Next came this kickoff to our rundown of the second issue of CANCELLED COMIC CAVALCADE in seventh:

Then came this piece on the making of MARVEL COMICS #1000 in eighth:

Number nine was a look back at this issue of DAREDEVIL, an issue that was especially fascinating to China for some reason:

And tenth was this CANCELLED COMIC CAVALCADE #2 look at the unpublished STEEL #6:

From here, I typically fill out the list with the most-read pieces in any categories that haven’t already been pulled from:

As always, I’d like to thank everybody for stopping by and reading some of this nonsense. Hope it brought some entertainment to your day. And we’ll continue on with new entries into 2026 and beyond!

  1. Thanks for another year of insight on some interesting topics. Here’s to looking ahead for more of comics’ past. Or something like that. Happy Holidays, Tom, and to everyone here. To the best 2026 we can make.
