How To Make Money Writing For Comic Magazines, Part Three

Once again, here’s a look at writer/editor Robert Kanigher’s 1943 how-to book on writing material for the comic book market. It’s a good snapshot as to just what the prevailing wisdom was during the Golden Age of Comics in terms of the material that was being generated.

That should cover things for the moment. But there’s more to come in future weeks.

  1. How long is this book?

I’m now kind of wanting to write a story featuring the heroes and villains Kanigher’s making up for his examples. The White Knight, Captain Torch, Doc Blaze and Yo-Yo must fight the Bloody Bore!

  2. …and now I wonder if Bob Haney ever wrote a “How to Write Comics the Haney Way.” I still envy the mind who could make a continuity junkie like myself, absolutely love the Wonder Woman/Supergirl vs Multi-Face type of stories.
