EPISODE 19 “We all know Homer pretty well, and his outburst this afternoon sort of bothers us. He said things I’m sure he didn’t mean–but still, he did touch on what’s worrying all of us. Just what are our chances, really, of getting to Iscandar and returning to Earth with the Cosmo DNA?” – Mark … Continue reading In Our Next STAR BLAZERS Adventure – Episode 19
The mail carrier also delivered me my subscription copy of FLASH right around this time. This was the middle chapter in a three-part story. Multiple part epics were beginning to become more frequent at DC, which was good in that, between having read the DC titles for so long and beginning to discover the Marvel … Continue reading BHOC: FLASH #255
Now that I was able to travel to the 7-11 at will, my subscriptions to JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA and FLASH were becoming a little bit troublesome. To wit: I am certain that I saw this issue of JLA on the spinner rack at the 7-11 before my sub copy arrived in the mail. The … Continue reading BHOC: JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #148
EPISODE 18 “When you think about it, it’s almost weird, kind of a great joke. But it’s not funny. Here we create these machines and then they have the ability to destroy us. Science has to do better than that. We must keep control of the machines we create. If not, the world will end … Continue reading In Our Next STAR BLAZERS Adventure – Episode 18
So, when I bought the previous issue of INVADERS from my local 7-11, it must have been on sale for some time, because before you knew it, the next issue showed up, sooner than the next issue of FANTASTIC FOUR. And again I bought it, at that same 7-11. It was clearly going to have … Continue reading BHOC: INVADERS #22
My Aunt Clementine was my Grandmother’s sister, and she and my Uncle Jerry Blazer shared a house with my grandparents that they’d all purchased in 1955 and remained in for almost 50 years. Because of this, they were very much immediate family, although we didn’t see them as often since Clem didn’t like to travel … Continue reading BHOC: SHAZAM #32
EPISODE 17 “Captain, it’s very serious, you know. I have to be honest with you: I must operate immediately. It’s the only chance you have, a-and it’s a slim one at that.” - Doctor Sane The next episode of STAR BLAZERS provides a lot of human drama, but the physical threat of the episode is … Continue reading In Our Next STAR BLAZERS Adventure – Episode 17
The “Now Monthly” blurb on the cover of this issue of GREEN LANTERN (co-starring Green Arrow!) was welcome news to me, as the Emerald Crusader was then my second-favorite super hero, just behind my beloved Flash. So, picking up this issue, I was pleased to learn that I’d be getting to experience his adventures more frequently … Continue reading BHOC: GREEN LANTERN #97
I don’t really have any strong memories of this issue of BATMAN FAMILY, apart from the fact that I would have purchased it at my local 7-11. It was, I expect, a perfectly entertaining outing, but not one that was noteworthy in any way. And ever since DC had dropped their classic reprints in favor … Continue reading BHOC: BATMAN FAMILY #14
EPISODE 16 “Nova, is that the way you think of me? Am I just a lot of scrap metal to you? I also happen to have life. I hear. I see. I feel. All these things were created in me to serve human beings. And I live among you, sharing your hopes and dreams. And … Continue reading In Our Next STAR BLAZERS Adventure – Episode 16
