It’s been homaged an awful lot over the years, which is a testament to how striking this John Byrne X-MEN cover is. That wanted poster calling out the final fate of so many characters is immediately riveting, as are the figures of an older Wolverine and Kitty Pryde. The damaged and cracked logo at the top is another nice touch.
The Tom Brevoort Experience 
This is a dynamite cover. The poster overlapping the dimensionalized logo hurts it some, though, as does parts of the poster and spotlight overlapping the corner box while other parts don’t. The top corner of the front edge of the logo also overlaps the corner box while the dimensionalized part of it doesn’t; it’s maddening when you look at it closely.
But when you don’t, it’s got bags of impact, and I’m pretty sure I read a friend’s copy even though I wasn’t buying the book at the time.
