Good color, great composition, tells a full story in one image.
Not even the logo can save Superman here.
A super-dramatic Nick Cardy TEEN TITANS cover, with excellent use of color. That magenta dimension just looks dangerous and weird and horrifying, and the desperate body language of the three male Titans sells the drama.
A very pretty Nick Cardy cover to GIRLS’ LOVE STORIES #139. The coloring takes its cues from the psychedelic imagery of the day. The only bit of this that I don’t love is the yellow streak that goes behind the cover copy, making it more difficult to read.
Another great Nick Cardy cover, this one for LOVE 1970, a giant-size reprint collection of romance stories. It’s really the color that makes this one, the elegant use of yellow and orange hues to evoke the summer sun. Great, effective highlighting on the central figures as well.
A funky TEEN TITANS cover by Nick Cardy that evidences the influence of psychedelic posters and prints of the era on comic book cover imagery. The Teen Titans logo is re-lettered for this issue so as to better fit in with the tone of this piece.
