This is a really pretty romance cover by Tony DeZuniga, one that draws upon larger influence in pop culture and the sorts of op art approaches that had garnered attention. It seems very sophisticated, way more so than the standard romance comic material that fills the insides of the book. But covers such as this one caught the eye on the stands–they stood out as graphically interesting even amid a horde of other titles. Frankly, the cover alone is worth the 15 cents.

The whole layout, including the copy’s font style all over, looks like it could’ve come from an early DC Vertigo book.
